Share your thoughts on waste collection in the municipality of Terneuzen
Much of what we now see as waste is actually valuable raw materials. Think of vegetable and fruit scraps, paper, cardboard, glass, textiles, plastic packaging, cans, and drink cartons. We can use these materials as raw materials for new products. The municipality of Terneuzen is therefore working on a new raw materials plan.
Completing the questionnaire takes about 5 to 7 minutes.
By keeping raw materials better separated from residual waste:
more materials can be reused;
fewer new raw materials are needed;
we save energy and CO₂ emissions;
less residual waste remains that needs to be incinerated;
the costs for waste processing remain more manageable.
Research shows that there are still many raw materials in the residual waste in the municipality of Terneuzen that could be better collected separately. Especially organic waste, paper, glass, textiles, and plastic packaging, cans, and drink cartons offer opportunities.
The municipality is working on a new raw materials plan. This plan outlines goals and measures for the coming years.
What can you contribute your thoughts on?
Some choices are already part of the further development of the raw materials plan. With this questionnaire, we would like to hear:
what helps you to keep raw materials better separated;
which facilities work well;
where you experience bottlenecks;
what attention is needed for high-rise buildings, the city centre, and rural areas;
what ideas you have for communication, reuse, and waste prevention;
which initiatives or pilots you might want to participate in.
We will use your answers in the further development of the raw materials plan and the implementation agenda.
